To celebrate The Sacred Royal Wedding of Bhutan's "Dragon King", Bhutan Post has released eight different stamps portraying His Majesty the King and the royal bride.
In a traditional ceremony, Bhutan's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk, 31, married Jetsun Pema, 21, a student and the daughter of an airline pilot, on October 13, 2011.
The stamps include a sheet of sheet-lets, two sets of souvenir sheets, two sets of holograms, and one set of gold stamps. The stamps denominations range between Rs 25 to Rs 225. The stamps were launched on October 9, 2011, to coincide with the World Post Day.
The Bhutan Post said post offices will remain open during the holidays coinciding with the royal wedding (October 13-15) to provide free postal service. In addition, Bhutan Post will distribute free stamps to schools having philatelic clubs.

2We provide information on stamp collecting but do not sell stamps ourselves. You can buy the stamps from most of the stamp dealers whose advertisements appear on this site or you can buy them directly from Bhutan Post whose website is listed on our page of official postal authorities websites.
