Katharine Hepburn 44 cent US postage stamp

On Wednesday, the United States Postal Service issued a 44 cent commemorative stamp honoring actress Katharine Hepburn, who died in 2003. The Postal Service has honored many other recently deceased movie stars and musicians with commemorative postage stamps of their own. Celebrities recently honored with their own stamps include Frank Sinatra (2008), Bette Davis (2008) and Bob Hope (2009).

People Magazine is currently running a poll asking its readers to choose which celebrity should be featured next on a commemorative stamp. People offers three stars who have died in the last 2 years: Michael Jackson, Paul Newman and Patrick Swayze.
