If it is an known error, then you can find estimated retail values by consulting one of the leading stamp catalogs. Bear in mind that the catalog prices are what a dealer would expect to SELL the stamp to a collector for, with a normal dealer mark-up for his profit. Dealers would buy the stamp at a steep discount from the expected retail price.

If the error is one that has not previously been found, valuing the rare stamp becomes much more difficult and subjective. I suggest that you contact several established stamp dealers in your area and seek their opinions.

I have an error stamp which appears to have the subject (or the queens head) is upside down. How can I find out if its valuable?
Regards

I have recently come into possession of some 4th printing Tianaman stamps.
But they are in blocks of 2 + 4 and a strip of 6.
The strange thing is they dont have any perforations.
Is this normal. And does it detract from their valuation?

Thanks
